Memories VS an MP3 Player for Mother’s Day
According to the National Retail Federation, Americans will spend
an average of $139.14 (or $15.7 billion nationally) on their mothers
on Mother’s Day this year. The most popular items among consumers
are pretty traditional and include such things as flowers, perfume
and dining out. A trip to the spa is gaining in popularity as a
Mother’s Day gift. Several places in town have a line of pink
electronics, including an MP3 player. The options range broadly,
however, and you’ve probably seen the ads marketing some quite
unusual things as the perfect present for your mom.
The president of the National Retail Federation claims that what
people are looking for most is a creative way to treat their mothers
to something special.
Have you been able to get what you most wanted for your mother
this year? How will you find something she will value or a creative
way to treat her to something special? What if you told your mother
that her life matters so much to you that you want to hear about
it from her and you want to be able to share that with your children
and future generations? A personal history project is a unique,
meaningful and special gift, and a wonderful bonus is that it tends
to be at least a two-way gift. We at MI-Stories.com think it is
the ideal value for your portion of the sixteen billion that will
be spent on Mother’s Day.
Mother’s Day is this Sunday, May 13. Other notable holidays
appropriate for sharing and preserving personal stories are Memorial
Day on May 28 and Father’s Day on June 17. And did you know
that May is Personal History Month? These holidays are excellent
opportunities to show your loved ones that you value their life
stories.
